Things I Loved in 2018

THINGS I LOVED IN 2018

Hi everyone! As 2018 comes to a close, I decided to take a minute and reflect on some things I have loved this year. Some are beauty and fashion favorites, and others just random things. Without further ado, here are my favorites for 2018:

New York City: Living in New Jersey, I’ve been to New York City countless times throughout my life. However, since moving there in August for college I have gotten to see a whole new side to the city and fallen in love with it all over again. Rather than a day trip, I’ve gotten to live my life there and explore for the past 5 months and I have been loving it!

Fun Shoes:  2018 truly was my year for fun shoes. I’ve had so much fun adding all kinds of exciting trends - from bright red booties to velvet sock boots to pink puffball sneakers - to my closet. A statement shoe can be the finishing touch on an outfit and elevate it to the next level. I have been having so much fun with my shoe choices and hope to continue doing so in 2019!

Journaling: Something only my closest friends - and now all of you - know about me is that I am obsessed with journaling. I have been writing in a journal and recording what I do every day since about 5th or 6th grade. I am currently on my fourteenth full journal. Yes, fourteenth. I think it’s so cool that I have almost every day of my life recorded and can pass them down to my children and grandchildren and see how much my day-to-day life has changed over the years. I even got my roommate to write in a journal!

(Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar)

Apple Cider Vinegar: This might seem like a random one, but there are so many health benefits to apple cider vinegar! I use it as a face toner after washing my face at night and have noticed a significant difference in my acne (it doesn’t work on everyone, my sisters did not see a difference in their skin and stopped using it). If you have sensitive skin, dilute it with a little bit of water and do a patch test before putting it all over your face. I have also been drinking a little bit of Vermont Village Sipping Vinegar - it comes in flavors like Blueberries and Honey to make it taste better - and noticed it makes me feel much less bloated and it is really good for your digestive system. Just be sure to brush your teeth immediately after because of the acidity!

Friends & Family:  I’ve always been extremely close with my family, but going away to college has given me an even greater appreciation for them and my friends. I may only be one state away, but I have friends at school who are across the country or even overseas from their friends and families.  It made me realize how important it is to make the most of the time you have with the people you love and not take it for granted.

Wishing you all a happy new year filled with health and happiness!
xoxo Carli
