Saving on Style
Hello loves!
So for today's post, I decided to share with you some of my favorite ways to save money when shopping for clothes. As a teenager who earns minimum wage but has a serious shopping addiction, I always love a good deal when it comes to clothes. It is a common misconception that cute, trendy clothes are always expensive. Here, I'm sharing 4 tips on how to get the most out of your money when it comes to fashion:
1. Check the sale section first: This one may seem like a no brainer, but so many people get distracted by the brand new window displays that they overlook that top they were dying for a few months ago hiding in the sale rack. Just because something is on sale does not mean it is out of style; often times a store must make room for new merchandise. Hollister has one of my favorite sale sections, I always find great stuff there!
2. Shop outlets: Stores like Nordstrom Rack, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx are often where I find the best deals! These stores sell name brand pieces at a fraction of the cost. The majority of my clothing from Free People is from Nordstrom Rack and cost wayyyy less than I would have paid in a Free People store.
3. Search around: As an online shopping addict, I can tell you that different websites have the same name brand pieces for different costs. This is especially true when it comes to department stores like Macy's or Nordstrom. If you see something you love, spend a couple extra minutes scanning other sites and you could save money.
4. Think of your options: When buying a new piece, try to think of at least 3 different outfits you could put together with it using items already in your closet. If you find the perfect top, but only if you wear it with x, y, and z other pieces you would have to buy to match it, your best bet is to hold off. You'll get so much more for your money if you invest in clothing you can wear multiple different ways.
5. Quality over quantity: I am totally guilty of ignoring this golden rule of shopping, but I'm trying to work on it. Filling your closet with a few good quality pieces you love is so much better than overflowing with cheap impulse buys. You'll thank yourself later.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend! Happy Friday!
